Here you'll find a collection of van conversions for vanlife – source of inspiration for your own DIY build.
We'll be looking to build a DIY campervan conversion after having to return our own build back to the UK from Portugal due to importation issues. Read more here.
In the meantime, I thought we'd share some cool vans we found whilst browsing for inspiration.
Medium vans (our choice)
This is the size of van we will be building. They range from 5.5m – 6.5m long (our ideal is 5.5 as it fits in most EU parking spaces). The best choices are the ‘Sevel' vans from 2007 and beyond; galvanized body (anti-rust!) and squared, boxy shape that maximises the space
Micro campers
Yes – people do “vanlife” in cars and tiny vehicles. Very cute! Here's a few we came across, mostly ‘7-seater' vehicles.
Small campers
Very popular due to their footprint not being much bigger than a large car. Popular with surfers due to the low height which enables them to get under height barriers which are popular at beach car parks. VW popularised the small camper.
Large campers
From horse boxes to ambulances and double-decker buses.
So there you have it. Some inspiration for your van build!

A few campervan views!
I'll probably add some more at a later date as we continue searching and thinking about that ‘ultimate' design 🙂
