Super-excited to have snagged camper tickets for Stendhal festival, a boutique festival in the north-west of Northern Ireland, held at at Ballymully Cottage Farm, Limavady and celebrating its 10th anniversary. As you can imagine most festivals in Ireland have been canceled yet again so we're delighted to be heading north, not just once but twice! Yes; we've booked campervan tickets for both July and August!
Stendhal decided to put on 2 events this year to celebrate their 10th birthday and the return of live music and other live entertainment.
Shortly after the tickets were announced, campervan tickets sold out. We managed to get July, but initially missed August. Thankfully, they released some more and we jumped at the chance to grab them 🥳.
So what type of festival is Stendhal?
Stendhal is a grass roots, boutique and family-friendly festival with a top music line up (mainly local), standup comedy, poetry, drumming, arts and other festivities. It's deemed a medium festival in Ireland and is a multi-award winner at the Irish Festival Awards, however it's really quite small with around 4,000 daily attendees according to efestivals. Due to COVID, this year the capacity is unknown and we imagine it has already been adjusted multiple times as we get closer to the date and confidence grows in it going ahead.
What's the Stendhal 2021 lineup?
Music, comedy and family lineups for July are all live at https://www.stendhalfestival.com/9th-10th-july-2021-music-lineup . August has yet to be announced.
It's a killer lineup of Northern Ireland's finest, including ASIWFA, Beoga, Lyra, Kila, Jealous of the Birds, Ciaran Lavery, General Fiasco, Ports, Beauty Sleep and Joshua Burnside.
We also have the Irish Daft Punk tribute band doing a DJ set for which the dancing shoes will be out! 💃
It's a great lineup and we can't wait! Although, tbh, after such live music drought, a wooden spoon and a saucepan would be enough to get us up dancing.
Are you attending Stendhal this year? If so, give us a shout! 🙂
